Movie sound dramaturgy

The Film Sound Dramaturgy workshop introduces participants to the creative and dramaturgical possibilities of film sound. The focus is based on sound dramaturgy, creating atmospheres, and creative sound design. Through film examples and practical exercises, participants discover how sound can alter the meaning and emotional impact of a scene. Through analysis, they get to know fundamental concepts and tools, and try them out by practicing on concrete scenes. By the end of the workshop, through designing and developing the custom soundscape of a short scene, they experience the independent storytelling power of sound.
